MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- When the team caravan began making its way from the school parking lot toward the interstate, Walker Valley girls' basketball coach David Tucker ordered a detour. Wanting his team, and the entire community, to soak up the excitement of the moment, Tucker led the team through Charleston and past a couple of elementary schools where well-wishers waved and cheered.

The NCAA announced on Wednesday the 50 at-large selections for its 2010 Wrestling Championships and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga sophomore Jason McCroskey is one of the recipients. The tournament is March 18-20 in Omaha, Neb.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- It didn't take brilliant halftime adjustments to inspire the Arts & Sciences girls' basketball team. All Lady Patriots coach Clay Martin needed to do was to remind them that they had packed their bags for a four-day stay, which meant they needed a second-half rally unless they were ready to go back home.

The beginning of the end arrives today for all Southeastern Conference basketball fans. Even if Tennessee -- which begins its SEC tourney run this afternoon at 3:15 EST against LSU -- wins every game possible the rest of the year it will play but 10 more times.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Several small scoring runs, at least one of 6-0 in all four quarters, added up to an insurmountable advantage for South Greene and eventually a 73-53 victory over Polk County in the Class AA girls' state tournament quarterfinals at Murphy Center.
