The next performance in the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera's Chamber Series will offer "Gems From the CSO Principals." The concert, conducted by Kayoko Dan, will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, in the Silver Ballroom of the Sheraton Read House, 827 Broad St.
The Chamber Series is designed to give the musicians the chance to perform "important and beautiful music that is rarely performed on our main stage series," according to a news release. "Whether it's music for chamber orchestra or small ensemble, most of this music was written to be performed in a smaller and more intimate setting."
Sunday's selections are favorites of the principal musicians. Featured works are Johannes Sebastian Bach's Suite 4 (originally for unaccompanied cello), Karl Ditters von Dittersdorf's Duet for Viola and Bass, Charles Gounod's "Petite Symphony" and Claude Bolling's Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano.
Tickets are $20. Call 267-8583 or visit www.chattanoogasymphony.org.
