Aradhna concert of Indian devotional music

Aradhna, a cross-cultural band that fuses traditional Indian devotional music (bhajans) with spiritual themes, will present "A Christmas Celebration Concert," from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, in the Tyner Academy auditorium, 6836 Tyner Road. Doors open at 6 p.m. Music by members Chris Hale (lead vocals, sitar), Pete Hicks (acoustic guitar, sitar) and Travis McAfee (bass) is a melding of Indian classical melody, rhythm and devotional lyrics woven with folk and rock. The music is composed primarily in the Hindi language. Most of the singing will be transliterated into English. Admission is free. For details, contact promoter Leto V.
