The NCAA announced on Wednesday the 50 at-large selections for its 2010 Wrestling Championships and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga sophomore Jason McCroskey is one of the recipients. The tournament is March 18-20 in Omaha, Neb.
The choices were made by the organization's Division I Wrestling Committee using the selection criteria without priority order. The gauges include head-to-head competition, qualifying event placement, quality wins, results against common opponents, winning percentage, rating percentage index, coaches ranking and number of matches contested at that weight class.
McCroskey will compete in the 184-pound weight class. he finished second at the Southern Conference Championships earlier in the year and registered a 15-12 record during the regular season.
This is McCroskey's second trip to the NCAAs. He went after winning the SoCon title at 174 as a freshman.
McCroskey's freshman teammate Dean Pavlou will also be in the competition. He earned an automatic bid by winning the 149-pound Southern Conference title last weekend at the SoCon tournament at Davidson.
