Dooley leads lawyers group

C. Douglas Dooley of the law firm of Leitner, Williams, Dooley & Napolitan PLLC has been elected president of the Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association.

He was president-elect of the association from 2007 to 2008 and secretary/treasurer from 2006 to 2007. The association is made up of lawyers primarily engaged in defense litigation.

Mr. Dooley has been with the Leitner firm since 1987 and has been a member since 1992. He practices all areas of litigation with an emphasis in transportation, workers' compensation, employment law, premises liability, products liability and insurance coverage.

Northwest Bank appoints Wilson

Josh Wilson has been named assistant vice president-commercial lender at Northwest Georgia Bank.

He joined Northwest Georgia Bank in 2006 after serving with Regions Bank. He began his career in 1998 with Wells Fargo Financial. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

He and his wife, Michelle, who works with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, live in Soddy-Daisy. They have a son, Parker.

Maycann joins Lattimore firm

Mary Ellen Maycann has become administrative manager at Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain PC, serving both the audit and tax divisions at the accounting and business consulting firm.

She previously served as membership director at the Walden Club. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Dickens joins medical practice

Dr. Mario Dickens, a foot and ankle specialist, has joined Drs. Dennis Bizzoco and Brian Burgan in practice at Associates in Foot and Ankle Care Inc. in Chattanooga.

He earned his podiatric medical degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, and completed foot and ankle surgical residency training at the Kingwood Medical Center in Houston.

His office is at 1007 Spring Creek Road.

Nashville law firm adds Chow to staff

Chattanooga native Wendy Chow has joined the law firm of Boult, Cummings, Conners & Berry PLC in Nashville.

She is in the firm's health care team as an associate. She earned her law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in May. She is also a graduate of Emory University.

Boult, Cummings, Conners & Berry is among the largest law firms in Nashville and was established in 1910.

J&J cited as a top Georgia employer

Georgia Trend magazine has recognized J&J industries in Dalton, Ga., as being one of the best employers in Georgia. The monthly magazine included the commercial carpet maker in its 2008 honor roll of best places to work published in the November edition. Jim Bethel, president of the 51-year-old company founded by his father, said J&J's environmental programs, profit sharing and family ownership have helped make J&J a better place to work.

"Your employees are truly partners in the business," Mr. Bethel told the magazine.

Seven in area pass CPA exam

Seven residents of Southeast Tennessee and North Georgia recently passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination, according to the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy.

They are Robert S. Miller of Chattanooga; Sarah E. Wright of Cleveland; Jamie L. Barbeauld of Hixson; Jeremy S. Thurman of Red Bank; Jason G. McPhail and Cayce J. Rountree of Athens; and Jason L. Davis of Calhoun, Ga.

After passing the exam, the successful candidates were inducted as members of the Tennessee Society of CPAs and its Chattanooga chapter.

Heil appoints Brown as a VP

Heil Environmental, a Chattanooga-based refuse and recycling vehicle manufacturer, has named Randy Brown vice president-sales and marketing.

Mr. Brown has more than 18 years of experience at Kennametal Inc., a major industrial manufacturer that serves worldwide automotive, heavy truck, off-road vehicle, aerospace, energy and general industrial markets.

Heil is part of Dover Co. and has manufacturing facilities in Fort Payne, Ala.; Greenville, S.C.; and Hillend, Scotland.
