Four area players finalists for Tennessee Mr. Football awards

Four local players were named as finalists for the TSSAA’s Mr. Football awards. Ooltewah junior defensive end Jacquez Smith (5A) and Rhea County center Kevin Revis (4A) were finalists for those respective classification’s Lineman of the Year award. South Pittsburg’s David Jones is a finalist for 1A Back of the Year and Rhea’s Josh Davis for Kicker of the Year.

There are three finalists for the Back of the Year and Lineman of the Year awards in each of the state’s five public school and two Division II classifications. The three finalists for Kicker of the Year are combined from all classifications.

The Mr. Football awards luncheon, sponsored by the Tennessee Titans, will be held Monday, Dec. 1 at the Embassy Suites Hotel & Conference Center in Murfreesboro.
