The changing of seasons — a drive down the W-Road

Included in this article

I love fall. The cool air, the changing of the leaves, and the onset of winter makes September, October, and November my favorite months of the year.

Each morning as I’m driving to work from my house on Signal Mountain, I am reminded of why I am so thankful to live in Chattanooga. It’s breathtakingly beautiful.

My daily drive down the W Road is a magical ride through a maze of bright, brilliant colors. The morning sun filters through the trees electrifying the reds, yellows and oranges. It’s the same on the way home as the sun slowly sinks behind the mountains.

This morning, I decided to capture the beauty of my morning ritual on video so that I could send it to two of my children who live in California as a gentle reminder of fall in their hometown. I placed my video camera on the dashboard of my car and filmed the entire drive down the mountain.

Chattanoogans don’t have to drive to faraway places to see the changing of leaves. It’s all around us.
