Teen Challenge of the Mid-South plans to both honor veterans of all wars and raise money with a motorcycle rally Saturday.
The organization’s first Ride for Freedom will begin at its South Chattanooga site. Riders will traverse Lookout Mountain and Cloudland Canyon to Trenton, Ga., and return along United States Highway 11.
“This is an area where we have not reached out,” said Teen Challenge’s Zoe Hartung. “We know there’s a lot of Christian motorcycle riders, so this is an opportunity for us to reach out to a totally different area.”
The ride, which is expected to begin at 10:30 a.m. and last until around 12:30 p.m., will be followed by an afternoon of live music, a cookout, facility tours, bike contests, games and a brief address honoring veterans by organization executive director and Vietnam veteran Roger Helle.
