Songs of Summer: a discussion
What makes a good summer song? Is it a hook? Is it a catchy chorus? Do the song lyrics need to be specifically about summer? On this week’s MUSICcast, Casey Phillips and I will discuss our favorite summertime songs. We’ll also talk about what makes them good. I think you’ll be surprised by some of our choices.
Some shows:
Nightfall will be rocking tonight with the Whigs and the Bohannons. Showtime is 7 p.m. at Miller Plaza. Admission is free.
Do you believe the band Sublime had enough hits to warrant a tribute band? Well, it’s true. The Wrong Way: A Tribute to Sublime will perform tonight at Rhythm & Brews. Tickets are $7.
Storytelling Singer/Songwriter Alan Rhody is at Charles n’ Myrtles’ coffeehouse on Saturday night. Expect soft, story songs. Admission is by donation. The show is at 8 p.m.
Saturday night, Sugarland will perform at the Chattanooga Convention Center as a part of Siskin Star night. This performance is already sold out, but a limited number of seats might become available.
Have a great weekend
